Description
COD Order Manager (also searched for as Easy Order or a Cash on Delivery plugin for WordPress) lets you sell directly from any page or post with a single shortcode – no shopping cart, no checkout redirect, and no WooCommerce installation or payment gateway account required to get started. A customer clicks Buy Now, fills in their details right there on the page, and the order is placed with Cash on Delivery (COD) or Offline payment (bank transfer / pay later). Every order lands in your own Orders screen, ready to filter, search, and update with a click.
It’s built for local businesses, service providers, single-product stores, dropshippers, and anyone who wants a fast “buy this one thing” flow without the overhead of a full shop plugin – while still scaling up cleanly if you later add WooCommerce, or need online payment gateways like PayPal, Stripe, Razorpay, and SSLCommerz, SMS/WhatsApp order alerts, OTP fraud protection, or automatic discounts (all available in the separate COD Order Manager Pro add-on).
Why store owners choose it
- No WooCommerce required – runs completely standalone on any WordPress site, out of the box.
- One-click Buy Now checkout – no cart, no multi-step checkout, no forced account creation.
- Cash on Delivery and Offline payment work immediately – no API keys, no gateway sign-up, no waiting for approval.
- Your own product catalog – categories, tags, stock tracking, a Sale badge, and a bulk CSV importer.
- A homepage-ready Hero Slider for promoting products, offers, or announcements.
- A full marketing landing page for any single product – hero photo, price, Buy Now, feature highlights, and “Related Products”/”Newest Arrivals” sections, in a modern “Dark Premium” design (or a Light alternative), fully colorable from Settings.
- An “Order via WhatsApp” button next to Buy Now, pre-filled with the product, price, and link – a free wa.me click-to-chat link, no API key or paid provider needed.
- Coexists cleanly with WooCommerce if you already have it – the two checkouts never collide, and you can even merge both catalogs into one grid.
Shortcodes and what each one is for
[comw_product id="123"] – Sell a single item from COD Order Manager’s own built-in product catalog. Shows the thumbnail/gallery, title, price, and an inline Buy Now button with the checkout panel already wired up. Use this for a dedicated product page or a promoted item embedded in a blog post.
[comw_buy_button id="123"] – The universal buy button. Point it at any priced post – COD Order Manager’s own catalog, a WooCommerce product (simple, variable, or external/affiliate), or any other post type you’ve registered via a filter – and it resolves the price, image, and stock fresh from the database every time. Also works with no product behind it at all:
[comw_buy_button title="One-Hour Consultation" price="49.99"]
for a one-off service or item that doesn’t need its own product page. Perfect for a pricing table, a landing page call-to-action, or a “Buy Now” link dropped into an existing WooCommerce product page.
[comw_product_list] – A full catalog grid (or list) with a grid/list toggle, a left-hand sidebar of filters that only render when they’re actually useful (price range, category, tags, attributes, rating, and stock status), and a click-to-preview image popup with an auto-rotating gallery. New pages load either with a “Load More” button or automatically via infinite scroll as the visitor reaches the bottom – your choice, set once in Settings. Attributes:
post_type–comw_product(default, your own catalog),product(list WooCommerce products instead), orboth_product(merge your own catalog and WooCommerce’s into one combined grid)per_page,columns,view(gridorlist)filters,filter_price,filter_category,filter_tags,filter_attributes,filter_rating,filter_stock– each can be set tonoto hide that specific filter, orfilters="no"to hide the whole sidebar
Use this for a shop-style archive page built entirely from a shortcode, without needing a full storefront theme or WooCommerce’s shop template.
[comw_hero_slider] – An auto-rotating image slider/banner for your homepage, landing page, or storefront header. Each slide has its own background image, heading (choose the HTML tag, H1-H6, for SEO control), subtitle, call-to-action button, text alignment/color, and color overlay. Manage slides with drag-to-reorder and global settings (autoplay, interval, dots, arrows, fade/slide transition, height, boxed/full width) under COD Order Manager > Hero Slider.
[comw_product_landing id="123"] – A full marketing-style landing page for one product: hero photo (or auto-sliding gallery), title, price, and Buy Now, an optional feature-chip strip pulled from the product’s own Specifications, and optional “Related Products” (same category) / “Newest Arrivals” sections. Two hero layouts (full-width image with the title over it, or a classic side-by-side split) and a “Dark Premium” or “Light” color scheme are set globally under COD Order Manager > Product Landing Page, along with colors, fonts, image sizing, and auto-slide timing – any of it can be overridden per shortcode instance, e.g. show_related="no". Give a product its own Landing Page Images (Product Manager) for a hero photo distinct from its catalog thumbnail, or leave it empty to fall back to the Featured Image + Product Gallery automatically.
[comw_category_showcase] – A “Search by Category” row for your homepage or landing page: a horizontally-scrolling set of category cards (image + name), each linking straight to that category’s own archive. Give a category its image under COD Order Manager > Products > Categories (Add/Edit Category screen) – a category with none set falls back to a plain placeholder icon rather than an empty box. Attributes:
title– the heading text (default “Search by Category”); leave empty (title="") to hide the heading entirelycount– how many categories to show (default: all)parent–0(default) shows only top-level categories; pass a category ID to show its subcategories insteadorderby,order–name(default),count,term_id, ormenu_order;ASC(default) orDESChide_empty–yesto hide categories with no published products (default:no, so a category still shows even before its first product is added)show_arrows–noto hide the prev/next scroll buttons
[comw_order_lookup] – A self-service “Track My Order” form. A customer enters their Order ID and the email they ordered with and sees the order’s current status, item, and total – no account or login required. Wrong ID or wrong email both return the same generic message, so the form can’t be used to probe whether a given order ID or email exists. Drop this on its own “Track Your Order” page and link to it from your order confirmation email or footer menu.
[comw_order_confirmation] – The order confirmation/thank-you page content, auto-created for you on activation (find it under COD Order Manager > Settings) – you don’t normally need to place this manually.
Your own product catalog
- A full product editor under COD Order Manager > Products – title, description, short description, regular/sale price, a unit label (e.g. “1kg”), featured image, and an image gallery, with an “All Products” list screen (search, status tabs, category filter, sortable columns, bulk trash/restore/delete) and stat tiles for total units sold and total stock remaining.
- Categories and tags for your catalog, managed from their own submenu screens – shown automatically as filters on
[comw_product_list]and assignable right from the product editor, including adding a new category inline without leaving the page. Give a category its own image for a[comw_category_showcase]“Search by Category” row. - CSV product importer – upload a WooCommerce product export (or any CSV using the same column names) to bulk-create or bulk-update products. Large files are processed in batches so it works regardless of catalog size or host time limits; only columns COD Order Manager has a home for are imported, and unsupported rows (variable/grouped/external products) are skipped with a reported reason instead of silently dropped. Re-uploading a corrected file updates products already imported under the same title instead of duplicating them.
- Stock tracking – track an exact quantity (auto-reduced when an order completes, shows “Out of Stock” at zero) or just flip a manual In Stock / Out of Stock switch. Checkout re-verifies stock server-side every time, never trusting what the page happened to show. Existing products with no stock setting at all stay purchasable.
- Fixed Quantity packages – sell something that only makes sense as a set number of units (a 20kg sack, a box of 6, a bundle of 3) by setting a Fixed Quantity on the product. The quantity field is locked at checkout so a customer can’t accidentally order “20” sacks instead of one 20kg sack – Regular Price is simply the price of the whole package.
- A fully customizable “Sale” badge (position, colors, border radius, size, spacing) and a struck-through original price, shown automatically wherever a price is discounted.
Checkout Fields
Preview exactly what your checkout panel asks customers for – Full Name, Email, Phone, Delivery Address, City, Postal Code, and Country – under COD Order Manager > Checkout Fields. Reordering fields, changing labels/validation, hiding fields you don’t need, and adding your own custom fields (text, email, phone, textarea, dropdown, checkbox, or radio) is unlocked by COD Order Manager Pro.
Every product page sells itself
A product’s own permalink page is purchasable the moment you publish it – COD Order Manager automatically adds the Buy Now box (image, price, description) to the page even if you never pasted a shortcode into it. It also prints a matching <meta name="description">/og:description tag from the product’s short description for search engines and social previews, automatically stepping aside if Yoast, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress, or The SEO Framework is already active.
Everything else it does
- Cash on Delivery and Offline payment, ready the moment you activate – just a label to customize, no API keys or sandbox accounts.
- Variable and external/affiliate WooCommerce products, fully supported: attribute dropdowns resolve the real variation and its price live, and an external product renders as a clean “View Product” link instead of a checkout form.
- A “Buy Now” button on WooCommerce’s own single product pages too (classic and block themes both), right alongside – or in place of, once a gateway is configured – the normal Add to Cart.
- Optional flat-rate shipping fee and a single tax rate, applied automatically to every order.
- An “Order via WhatsApp” button, shown next to Buy Now wherever it appears (catalog cards, product pages, the landing page) once you add your WhatsApp number under Settings – opens a chat pre-filled with the product, price, and link, no API key required.
- An Orders screen with AJAX status filtering, search, CSV export, and one-click status changes – no page reloads.
- Automatic email notifications to both the customer and the site admin when an order is placed and again when it’s marked completed.
- Runs standalone, or opt in to run alongside WooCommerce – COD Order Manager defers to WooCommerce by default so the two checkouts never collide, falling back to WooCommerce’s own Add to Cart automatically anywhere it isn’t configured to take over.
Built with security in mind
- Every AJAX request is nonce-protected and price/stock/variation data is always re-verified fresh on the server – nothing from the browser is ever trusted for what a customer actually gets charged.
- Order confirmation, payment-return, and cancellation links use a signed, unforgeable per-order token, so an order ID alone (a plain sequential number) can never be used to view someone else’s order.
- The guest order-lookup form never reveals whether a wrong Order ID or a wrong email address was the mismatch, and is rate-limited per visitor.
- CSV exports are formula-injection safe.
- All admin actions check the current user’s capability before making any change.
Need more? COD Order Manager Pro adds:
- 4 more payment gateways – PayPal, Stripe, Razorpay, and SSLCommerz, configured in the same Settings screen.
- Discount Rules – automatic discounts by product, category, price, day of the week, date, or coupon code, with usage limits and rule stacking.
- A full Checkout Fields editor – edit every built-in field and add unlimited custom fields.
- Sales Reports – revenue, top products, top customers, payment-method breakdowns, and period-over-period comparison.
- SMS & WhatsApp order notifications – connect any SMS/WhatsApp provider’s API, no vendor lock-in.
- OTP phone verification at checkout – block fake/fraudulent Cash on Delivery orders with a one-time SMS code, required only for the payment methods you choose.
- Ad pixel tracking – Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, and Google Ads/GA4 conversion tracking, wired to real order data.

FAQ
-
Do I need a payment gateway account to use this?
-
No. COD Order Manager ships with Cash on Delivery and Offline payment, both of which need nothing but a label – no API keys, no gateway account.
-
Do I need WooCommerce to use this?
-
No. COD Order Manager works entirely on its own. If WooCommerce is also active on your site, it stays off by default so the two checkouts never collide – you can opt in to running it alongside WooCommerce from COD Order Manager > Settings.
-
Can I sell a WooCommerce product without WooCommerce’s cart/checkout?
-
Yes, once enabled alongside WooCommerce. Use
[comw_buy_button id="123"]with a WooCommerce product ID, and a “Buy Now” button also appears on that product’s own page – for simple and variable products. If COD Order Manager isn’t set up to take over yet, that button automatically falls back to WooCommerce’s own normal Add to Cart instead. External/affiliate products always link straight to the seller’s own site, since WooCommerce itself never processes their payment either. -
Can customers check their order status without an account?
-
Yes – add the
[comw_order_lookup]shortcode to any page. They enter their Order ID and the email they ordered with, no login required. -
Can I organize my products into categories, or bulk-import them?
-
Yes to both. Categories and tags are managed under COD Order Manager > Products > Categories/Tags (or right from the product editor, including adding a new category on the fly), and the Import Products button on the Products screen accepts a CSV file – a WooCommerce product export works, or any CSV using the same column names.
-
Can I track stock for my own products?
-
Yes – each product under COD Order Manager > Products has an Inventory box where you can either track an exact quantity or manually mark it In Stock / Out of Stock. Existing products with no stock setting at all stay purchasable, so nothing you already have live suddenly disappears from sale.
-
What is “Fixed Quantity” for?
-
It’s for products that only make sense as one fixed-size package – a 20kg sack, a box of 6, a bundle of 3. Set a Fixed Quantity on the product and the quantity field at checkout is locked to that exact number, so customers can never accidentally multiply the price by ordering “20” of something that should only ever be ordered as one package. Just make sure Regular Price is the price of the whole package, not a single unit.
-
Can I show a “browse by category” row with images on my homepage?
-
Yes – add
[comw_category_showcase]to any page for a horizontally-scrolling row of category cards (image + name), each linking to that category’s own archive. Set each category’s image from COD Order Manager > Products > Categories, on that category’s own Add/Edit screen. -
Yes – the
[comw_hero_slider]shortcode shows a fully customizable, auto-rotating image slider. Add and reorder slides (background image, heading, subtitle, button, text color, overlay) and control autoplay/timing/transition under COD Order Manager > Hero Slider. -
Can I create a dedicated landing page for a single product?
-
Yes – add
[comw_product_landing id="123"]to any page for a full marketing-style page for that one product: hero photo, price, Buy Now, a feature-highlight strip, and Related Products/Newest Arrivals sections. Colors, hero layout, image sizing, fonts, and auto-slide timing are all set under COD Order Manager > Product Landing Page, and any of the show/hide sections can be overridden per shortcode instance. -
Can customers order or ask about a product over WhatsApp?
-
Yes – add your WhatsApp number under COD Order Manager > Settings > General Settings and an “Order via WhatsApp” button appears next to Buy Now everywhere it’s shown. Clicking it opens the customer’s own WhatsApp with a message already filled in (product, price, link) addressed to your number – they still have to press Send themselves, so it’s a free, no-API contact channel rather than a guaranteed order. Requires nothing but a phone number – no WhatsApp Business API, no paid provider.
-
Can I edit the checkout fields or add my own custom field?
-
The free plugin shows you a preview of the checkout fields (Full Name, Email, Phone, Delivery Address, City, Postal Code, Country) under COD Order Manager > Checkout Fields. Editing labels/validation/order, hiding fields, and adding unlimited custom fields (text, email, phone, dropdown, checkbox, radio) requires COD Order Manager Pro.
-
How do the [comw_product_list] filters work?
-
Each filter (price, category, tags, attributes, rating, stock) only appears when it’s actually applicable – your own product catalog has categories, tags, and stock status but no WooCommerce-style attributes or ratings, while a WooCommerce catalog shows attributes and ratings instead of tags. You can also disable any individual filter, or the whole sidebar, via shortcode attributes.
-
Where do orders go?
-
Orders are stored separately from WooCommerce orders, in their own Orders screen under the COD Order Manager admin menu.
-
Can I add PayPal, Stripe, Razorpay, SSLCommerz, automatic discounts, SMS/WhatsApp alerts, or OTP fraud protection?
-
Yes, via the separate COD Order Manager Pro add-on, which plugs payment gateways, Discount Rules, a full Checkout Fields editor, Sales Reports, SMS/WhatsApp notifications, OTP checkout verification, and ad pixel tracking directly into this plugin’s existing Settings, Orders, and storefront screens – no separate configuration to learn.

Changelog
1.0.2
- New:
[comw_category_showcase]– a “Search by Category” row of category cards (image + name) for your homepage or landing page, with prev/next scrolling and a link to each category’s own archive. - New: an Image field on the Add/Edit Category screen (COD Order Manager > Products > Categories), plus a thumbnail column on the categories list – the image
[comw_category_showcase]shows for that category. - New: “Order via WhatsApp” button next to Buy Now (catalog cards, product pages, the landing page) – a free wa.me click-to-chat link pre-filled with the product, price, and URL. Set your WhatsApp number, button text, and message template under COD Order Manager > Settings > General Settings; the button only appears once a number is set, and never shows for an out-of-stock item.
1.0.1
- New:
[comw_product_landing id="123"]– a full marketing-style landing page for one product: hero image/gallery, title, price, Buy Now, category badges, a feature-chip strip, and “Related Products”/”Newest Arrivals” sections, each independently toggleable per shortcode instance. - New: two hero layouts (full-width image with the title over it, or side-by-side) and a “Dark Premium” color scheme (amber accent, dark gradient hero/feature strip) as the new default, with a “Light” alternative – both fully colorable, and the hero image’s size/blur/opacity adjustable, from Settings.
- New: dedicated Landing Page Images field per product (COD Order Manager > Products), shown exclusively on that product’s landing-page hero when set, or merged with its Featured Image + Product Gallery via a Settings toggle; falls back to the Featured Image + Product Gallery automatically when left empty.
- New: hero image auto-slide, with separate on/off + interval controls for a product’s own Landing Page Images versus its Featured Image/Gallery fallback.
- New: Buy Now on the landing page (and anywhere via
[comw_product id="123" modal="yes"]) now pops the checkout into the same popup style used elsewhere on the site, instead of expanding inline. - New: redesigned Product Landing Page and Hero Slider admin screens – tabbed layout, toggle switches, drag-to-set range sliders, and card-style choice pickers, replacing the earlier long scrolling forms.
- Fixed: a single-image landing-page hero (no gallery) wasn’t stretching to fill its container – now sizes correctly at any hero width.
- Fixed: the Landing Page Images field’s remove button was invisible/unclickable due to missing styling.
- New: Hero Slider –
[comw_hero_slider]shortcode plus a drag-to-reorder admin screen for an auto-rotating homepage/landing-page image banner. - New: Fixed Quantity – lock the checkout quantity field for products that only make sense as one fixed-size package.
- New: Checkout Fields preview screen under COD Order Manager > Checkout Fields (full editing and custom fields available via the Pro add-on).
- New:
both_productoption for[comw_product_list]to merge your own catalog and WooCommerce’s into one combined grid. - Fixed: Fixed Quantity products were being priced as quantity x price instead of as a single package price – now always priced correctly as one package.
- Improved: live checkout price preview now matches the corrected Fixed Quantity pricing.
- New:
[comw_product_list]sidebar filters – price range, category, tags, attributes, rating, and stock status, each conditionally shown based on what’s actually available. - New: infinite-scroll option for
[comw_product_list], alongside the original Load More button – switch between them in Settings. - New:
[comw_order_lookup]shortcode for self-service guest order tracking, rate-limited and enumeration-safe. - New: CSV product importer, categories/tags, and stock tracking for the plugin’s own product catalog, enforced on the storefront and re-verified server-side at checkout.
- New: full support for WooCommerce variable products (live attribute/variation resolution) and external/affiliate products (clean link-out, no checkout attempted).
- New: customizable “Sale” badge (position, colors, border radius, padding, size, margin) and a struck-through original-price display, shown automatically wherever a price is discounted.
- New: tabbed Settings screen (Payment Gateways / General Settings), switching instantly with no page reload.
- Improved: modernized storefront checkout panel and product-list card/grid design.
- Fixed: WooCommerce products sold through this plugin’s own checkout now have their stock correctly checked and reduced, the same as products sold through WooCommerce itself.
